His parents, Dileep and Sharmila, were determined that his visual impairment would not limit his education or independence. When he turned three he was admitted to Netraheen Vikas Sansthan, a school dedicated to children with visual disabilities. From Class 9 onward, he consistently stood first in his class.\n\nIn 2007, Akshay scored 80 per cent in his Class 10 examinations, the top scorer among visually impaired students in the Rajasthan Board. Sanskrit, studied entirely through braille, became his academic anchor. He pursued a BA in Sanskrit, Political Science, and Public Administration. In 2013, he completed his B.Ed. He cleared the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) and qualified for the role of Assistant Professor. However, due to his Blindness, he was offered only subordinate positions.\n\nIn 2014, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission released an advertisement for 67 assistant professor posts in Sanskrit, none of which were reserved for visually impaired candidates. Akshay wrote multiple letters to the authorities, seeking redressal. When these efforts failed, he approached the Rajasthan High Court in 2015.\n\nEven as the court case dragged on for eight years, Akshay was furthering his prospects. In 2015 he completed his M.A. in Sanskrit with flying colours, earning a gold medal. He also cleared the Rajasthan School Lecturer examination, and between 2017 and 2025, he taught at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sardarpura, Jodhpur. After winning the court case he was appointed Assistant Professor of Sanskrit at a government college in Osian village, where he has been working since 2025.\n\nAkshay’s twin passions are cricket and music. उन्होंने अक्षय के साथ-साथ खुद भी ब्रेल सीखा और नर्सरी से लेकर प्राइमरी क्लास तक उन्हें पढ़ाया। अक्षय खुद मानते हैं कि चौथी या पाँचवीं क्लास तक उन्हें पढ़ाई-लिखाई में कोई खास दिलचस्पी नहीं थी, और वे ज़्यादातर तभी पढ़ते थे जब परीक्षा नज़दीक आती थी। हालाँकि, जैसे-जैसे वे बड़े हुए, उन्हें पढ़ाई की अहमियत समझ में आने लगी;
